PNG to BMP, in the bit depth you need
PNG to BMP free, in the bit depth the program on the other end wants. PNG to BMP 24-bit is the standard; PNG to BMP transparent keeps the alpha channel in a 32-bit BMP; PNG to BMP 8-bit (PNG to BMP 256 color) makes a small palette file for old software and LCD firmware; PNG to BMP 16 bit (RGB565) is what many embedded displays and microcontrollers read.
To convert PNG to BMP in Photoshop you would use Save As > BMP and choose the depth; this does the same in the browser. iLovePDF does not convert PNG to BMP (PNG to BMP iLovePDF searches end on their JPG tools); this page does.
Why it matters
Every pixel kept
The picture is not resized, sharpened or smoothed. It comes out at exactly its original width and height, so no detail is lost on the way.
Transparency handled properly
PNG, WebP, GIF and ICO keep the alpha channel. JPEG and BMP cannot hold one, so transparent areas are filled white rather than turning black.
Colour as it was
Colours are carried across as they are, with no filter, no tone shift and no added compression on a lossless format.
Nothing leaves your machine
No upload, no queue and no copy of your pictures on a server: the conversion runs in your browser.
Questions
Does converting lose quality?
Not to PNG, TIFF, BMP or lossless WebP: those keep every pixel. JPEG and lossy WebP discard some detail to make the file smaller; at the default 92% quality that is not visible, and you can raise it to 100%.
Will my picture keep its size?
Yes. The width and height in pixels are exactly those of the original.
Is transparency kept?
Into PNG, WebP, GIF and ICO, yes. JPEG and BMP have no transparency, so those areas are filled white.
